Between the Worlds 2020 honors Inari, the shinto deity of foxes, rice, tea, sake, agriculture, general prosperity, worldly success, blacksmiths and fertility. Inari is widely known through modern Japan as a primary Kami (spirit) for households to pay worship too. Often seen as either male, or female, Inari definitely blurs the lines of many worlds. They are represented through the red Torii, or arches, seen at the start of many shrines in shinto culture with the largest being the Inari shrine in Kyoto. For our gathering in 2020, we shall call to them and enjoy the prosperity they bring to our lives, and revel in some good trickster energy that will help us forge ahead into the new year.
