Facilitators and Coordinators

Many volunteers help to make Between the Worlds happen each year. In particular, the Gathering is run by Co-Facilitators and a group of dedicated Coordinators.

Community Coordinator Positions
In compensation for this service, persons who volunteer and are accepted to fill Coordinator positions at BTW will, upon satisfactory completion of their duties, be considered for reimbursement of one-half of their registration fee for the event. Coordinator positions and their associated duties include:

Community & Events: They are responsible for maintaining the heart of the Community, the Queer Spirit Altar and assist for set-up and clean-up before and after Komos and other Community Events and Rituals as needed. 

Fire & Flame They are responsible for tending the main Sacred Fire and other ritual and community fires as needed. They are responsible for coordinating the placement, filling, and lighting of torches where and when they are needed. 

Heralding:   They are responsible for coordinating announcements of gathering events, schedule changes, and emergency notifications.

Registration and Work-Shift: They are responsible for coordinating volunteers to staff the needs of the other Coordinator positions and for the check-in process.

Silent Auction/Raffle:  They are responsible for coordinating submissions for the raffle and silent auction, selling raffle tickets, daily drawings for raffle prizes during the morning meeting, and maintaining silent auction lots. They also handle selling all of the event merchandise during the gathering.

Land Steward: They are responsible for maintaining & coordinating the cleanliness of camp and our impact on the property, land and sacred sites. Whether scheduling garbage runs, post ritual site pickup, end of event land walks. The Land Steward always has their eye on the cleanliness of camp and our impact on the property.

Photography: They are responsible for documenting the event and capturing images that can be used for marketing material

Web: They are responsible for designing and maintaining our website and registration platform. 


Spectrum Blade Coordinators.
Security: The coordinators for security are members of the Brotherhood of the Spectrum Blade. They are responsible for the safety and security of the event.

First Aid: The coordinators for first aid are members of the Brotherhood of the Spectrum Blade. They are responsible for responding to medical emergencies. These persons must, at minimum, possess a current Red Cross certification in First Aid and CPR.

Counseling: The coordinators for counselling are members of the Brotherhood of the Spectrum Blade. They are responsible for tending to the mental health of the gathering attendees, providing counselling to attendees, as necessary, and providing advice to BTW facilitators on situations as they may arise. These persons will, ideally, possess a background in the mental health or social service professions.
