The Ganesha Scholarship Fund
In honor of CrystalBear, a brother of the BTW community who passed beyond
the veil in 2004, we have named the BTW scholarship the Ganesha Scholarship
Fund, after the elephant-headed Hindu god who is the remover of obstacles.
There are a limited number of scholarships available to cover half of the
entry fee applicable at the time of registration. Ganesha Scholarships are
designed to help men to attend who might not otherwise have the opportunity
due to financial hardship.
This year, we are pleased to announce that the Ganesha Scholarship form
has been integrated into the Online Registration form
If you are applying for a scholarship, you must select the
scholarship option on the payment portion of the registration.
Please note, the Ganesha scholarship is located within the registration
form. When submitting your registration and filled out scholarship form,
please also submit payment of the remainder of the resgistration fee at
that time. Registration containing scholarship applications, that are being mailed in, must be
postmarked by August 5, or submitted online by August 12th, 2018.
Merchants may not apply for scholarships. Previous scholarship recipients
must have attended at least three events since the previous scholarship
was used.
Ganesha Scholarships are awarded based on an evaluation of all of the applications
postmarked by the deadline. Selection will be made on a combination of factors,
including financial need, diversity, ability and willingness to contribute
meaningfully to the community, and scholastic intent. All decisions made
by The Green Faerie Grove with regard to the awarding of Ganesha Scholarships
are final. All scholarship applicants will be notified of their status on
or before September 1. If you have not been chosen to receive
a scholarship, you will be given the opportunity to pay the full price by
September 7. If you do not pay in full by September 7,
any money you have paid towards your registration will be refunded in full
(see Cancellations and Refunds below). Do not assume
that you have been granted a scholarship until you receive confirmation
from the GFG.
If you are selected for a Ganesha Scholarship, you agree to:
-
1) commit to 8 hours worth of work shifts and may be asked to help fill
in vacant work-shifts during the Gathering as directed by the Work-shift
Coordinator, and
2) provide a one-page synopsis of your experience to Green Faerie Grove
after the gathering

All program applicants will be notified of the status of their proposals
on or before September 1st. All program selection and scheduling decisions
made by The Green Faerie Grove are final.
Merchant Permits
If you wish to sell or barter goods or services at BTW, you must complete
a Merchant Permit application and submit it with your completed registration
form and signed waiver. There is a non-refundable $25
booth fee due with your registration ($35
for multiple merchants in one booth). You may not merchant without a Merchant
Permit. We also ask that each merchant donate one item to be used for a
silent auction. The Merchant Permit entitles you to a dedicated merchant
space and a listing in the Gathering guide. The monies raised from merchant
fees are intended for scholarships for needful attendees.
Work Shifts
As a condition of attending BTW, each person must commit to contribute one
4-hour or two 2-hour shifts worth of work during the gathering to assist
the facilitators and the coordinators in their duties. Facilitating workshops
or rituals at BTW counts as one 2-hour work-shift. You must sign up for
your work-shift(s) when you arrive on site. Please be on time for your shift.
In keeping with the egalitarian orientation of the gathering, you must fulfill
your own obligation and not place the burden on others. These jobs are necessary
to help ensure that BTW functions in a safe and efficient manner for the
enjoyment of all.
Cancelations & Refunds
Requests for cash refunds of registration fees must be postmarked no later
than September 1 in order for a refund to be granted. Refunds requested
by September 1 will be returned in mid October less a $20 processing fee
per cancelled registration (Note: this processing fee does not apply to
scholarship applicants or coordinators). Refunds for Coordinators who have
satisfactorily completed their commitment will also be returned in mid October.
If GFG is forced to cancel the event prior to its start, all paid registrants
will receive a full refund by mid October.
